Two injured after Sunday accident

JASPER — A Sunday afternoon accident left two injured and two totaled vehicles.
Stephanie A. Riggins, 42, Huntingburg, was traveling south on U.S. 231 at the intersection with County Road 100 South in a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am while Laura R. Kunkel Polen, 43, Jasper, was on County Road 100 South turning north onto U.S. 231 in a 2011 Ford Escape. Riggins disregarded the signal and drove into the intersection and hit the other car.
Both drivers were treated and released on the scene by EMS and both vehicles were considered total losses.
The Jasper Police Department was assisted by the Dubois County Sheriff's Office, Dubois County EMS and Sternberg Collision Repair Center.
