Truck-vs-deer collision occurs at Birdseye

BIRDSEYE — A Birdseye man’s pickup truck sustained damage when it collided with a deer Thursday night south of Birdseye.

Daniel R. Madden, 70, Birdseye, was northbound on State Road 145 in a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado when the 8 p.m. accident occurred at Borden Hill Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Madden’s truck collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the east.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000, but Madden was able to drive from the scene.
