JASPER — Injury was avoided but not property damage when a pickup truck ran off a county road northwest of Jasper Wednesday morning.
Blake A. Danzer, 16, Jasper, was westbound on County Road 400N in a 2000 Chevrolet 1500 series pickup when the 7:20 a.m. mishap occurred 750 feet east of County Road 425W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Danzer looked out into a field and the truck ran off the north side of the roadway, according to the sheriff’s office. The truck continued west along a ditch line, struck a decorative wooded landscape bridge in a yard, hit and cracked a concrete driveway and struck a Frontier Communications pole and pedestal box. The truck hit a tree, spun off and hit a roadway sign post and stopped in the westbound lane facing northwest.
Total damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
