HAYSVILLE — A Kentucky motorist escaped injury when the truck he was driving struck a deer Sunday morning at Haysville.
Donald E. Hagman, 75, Owensboro, Kentucky, was southbound on U.S. 231 in a 2000 GMC Sierra when the 5:27 a.m. accident occurred at State Road 56, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Hagman’s truck collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the east.
The deer ran off and was unable to be located after the collision, according to the sheriff’s office.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500, with the truck requiring a tow.
