Truck spins, strikes tree west of MentorJanuary 18, 2019
From Local Sources
MENTOR — Precipitation from a winter weather system factored into a pickup truck striking a tree early Saturday morning west of Mentor.
Elliott M. Wiseman, 18, Birdseye, was southbound on Mentor Road South in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado when the 1:30 a.m. mishap occurred south of State Road 64, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
Snow was falling in the area when Wiseman’s truck slid off the west side of the road, spun and struck a tree. The Silverado stopped facing northwest down an embankment, according to the sheriff’s department.
Total damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
A Berg’s Garage wrecker assisted.
