MALTERSVILLE — No injuries were reported after a commercial vehicle ran off the highway in the Maltersville Bottoms early Tuesday.
Clinton J. Allen, 41, Jasper, was northbound on State Road 162 in a 2015 Chevrolet northbound owned by Terminix when the 1:21 a.m. accident occurred north of County Road 230S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Allen fell asleep at the wheel and the Chevrolet ran off the west side of the highway. The vehicle knocked down a couple of newspaper tubes, went down a ditch embankment and stopped on its passenger side facing south.
The accident likely totaled the vehicle, according to the deputy.
The Jasper Police Department and a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.
