Trooper accuses Kentucky motorist of OWI

From Local Sources

FERDINAND — A Kentucky motorist passing by Ferdinand on I-64 late Sunday was arrested and accused of drunken driving.

An Indiana State Police trooper stopped a westbound 2017 Ford driven by Robert T. Frey, 40, Goshen, Kentucky, at 10:33 p.m. because the vehicle was allegedly speeding and not signaling lane changes on I-64 near the State Road 162 exit.

A trooper said Frey’s BAC tested .34 percent at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.

Authorities booked Frey into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:47 a.m. today on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of operating while intoxicated. The impaired driving count was elevated to a felony because of a prior conviction for the offense within the last five years.
