Trial scheduled in paraphernalia case

From Local Sources

JASPER — A Huntingburg man who twice failed to appear for hearings related to a March paraphernalia arrest was jailed Thursday on a failure-to-appear warrant.

Peter N. Lemond, 52, 805 N. Washington St., Huntingburg, was charged with possessing paraphernalia after a March 7 traffic stop by the Huntingburg Police Department and was ordered to make an initial appearance March 20 in Dubois Superior Court.

Authorities allege he failed to appear March 20 and then missed another hearing June 3, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.

After being booked Thursday afternoon into the Dubois County Security Center on the warrant, Lemond appeared in court Friday, at which time a July 23 court trial was scheduled in the case and he was released on his own recognizance.
