Tree Carving

Founder of Bear Hollow Wood Carvers Jason Emmons of French Lick carves a sculpture into Georgiann Grothouse's tree at her home in Jasper on Thursday. The wooden sculpture will feature various woodland creatures, an angel and a place to sit. "A lot of walkers and kids on bikes pass by my house," Grothouse said. "I just have a thing about kids who want to climb and sit in a tree; it reminds me of my grandkids. So I want people to know as they pass by they can have a nice place to sit and take photos."

"I've thought about doing something with the tree for a while now," Grothouse said. "But things always came up. Now, we've got this big window of time because of the virus. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product."
