Transformer failure sends out Dubois firefighters

From Local Sources

DUBOIS — Units of the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a transformer fire Monday morning west of the Dubois Crossroads.

Fire Chief Steve Kalb said firefighters stood by in the 4000 block of State Road 56 while the Dubois Rural Electric Cooperative responded to address the issue.

It was raining Monday morning but firefighters did not know what caused the transformer to fail.

One truck and 15 firefighters were on the scene for about an hour.
