LOOGOOTEE — Martin County authorities report arresting a Dubois County man for impaired driving.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office stopped a Dodge passenger car driven by Kevin J. McGuinness, 26, of Jasper, at 11:36 p.m. Thursday in Loogootee after McGuinness allegedly committed two traffic violations.

Police said McGuinness’ blood alcohol content tested .193%.

Authorities booked McGuinness into the Martin County Security Center at 12:22 a.m. Friday. On Monday, he was charged in Martin Circuit Court with Level 6 felony operating while intoxicated and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. The impaired driving charge was elevated to a felony because of a prior conviction for the offense within the last five years.
