HOLLAND — A Jasper man stands accused of marijuana possession and dealing following a traffic stop early today south of Holland.
An Indiana State Police trooper stopped a southbound 2015 GMC Terrain on State Road 161 near County Road 1150S at 12:56 a.m. after clocking the SUV traveling at 67 mph in the 55 mph zone.
The trooper reported the strong odor of marijuana, which led to a search of the vehicle driven by Chad A. Cowan, 31, 1426 Newton St., Jasper.
Police say the search located 640 grams of marijuana separated into 14 bags.
Authorities booked Cowan into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:56 a.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession and dealing marijuana. He posted bond later in the morning.
State police K-9 Drogos assisted at the scene, according to authorities.
