Traffic stop driver accused of possession

JASPER — Police arrested a driver during a Thursday night traffic stop after officers report discovering drug-related items.


The Jasper Police Department stopped a 1999 Ford Ranger driven by Casey P. Cole Sr., 39, 8233 E. Dubois-Cuzco Road, Dubois, at 11:46 p.m. after Cole allegedly disregarded the traffic signal at 15th and Newton street.

A police K-9 that was brought to the scene then allegedly indicated on the truck’s driver’s door area. Police report finding Cole in possession of multiple syringes and spoons with residue on them that were suspected of being used to inject methamphetamine into the body.

Authorities booked Cole into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:35 a.m. today on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes and a preliminary misdemeanor count of possession of paraphernalia.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police and a Ruxer Ford wrecker assisted.
