Traffic stop culminates in arrest

FERDINAND — Indiana State Police placed a woman under arrest after a Friday evening traffic stop just north of Ferdinand.


A trooper on patrol stopped a vehicle driven by Samantha C. Schepers, 20, 1222 Jackson St., Jasper, at 6:50 p.m. after clocking the vehicle going 68 mph in the 55 mph zone.

After noticing the odor of burnt marijuana, police allegedly located marijuana cigarettes, a pipe, a grinder and multiple plastic bags containing marijuana.

Authorities booked Schepers into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:45 p.m. She posted bond later that night. Police have preliminarily charged Schepers with Level 6 felony dealing marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
