Traffic stop brings OWI, drug charges

JASPER — A Jasper man was accused of impaired driving and drug offenses after an early Saturday morning traffic stop in the 2200 block of Mill Street.
Members of the Jasper Police Department stopped Robert G. Marks, 47, Jasper, around 1 a.m. because the plate on the rear of the vehicle he was driving was registered to a different vehicle.
Upon investigation, Marks was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine while driving. Drugs and paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.
Marks was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of paraphernalia, driving while suspended, operating a motor vehicle with fictitious plates and operating a motor vehicle without financial responsibility.
Marks was transported to the Dubois County Security Center. JPD was assisted by Uebelhor's Wrecker Service.
