Traffic stop brings OWI, drug charges

SCHNELLVILLE — A Jasper man was accused of impaired driving and drug offenses after a Sunday night traffic stop near Schnellville.
A Dubois County Sheriff’s Office deputy reports stopping a 1996 Lexus passenger car on Schnellville Road just west of Schnellville at 10:11 p.m. after the vehicle went left of center three times.
The deputy said the driver, Christopher S. Gramelspacher, 39, 416 W. Sixth St., Jasper, exhibited signs of impairment and later tested positive for marijuana and amphetamines in his system during testing at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
In addition, police report locating methamphetamine, marijuana and a glass smoking pipe after a Jasper Police Department K-9 called to the scene indicated on the vehicle.
Authorities booked Gramelspacher into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:20 a.m. today on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor operating while under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
