Traffic stop brings marijuana accusation

From Local Sources

JASPER — Police arrested a Crawford County woman after a Wednesday traffic stop just southeast of Jasper.

A Jeep driven by Ashley M. Merrimon, 25, Taswell, was stopped in the vicinity of State Road 162 and County Road 230S because it was alleged there was a false and fictitious plate on the vehicle. Indiana State Police reported a Jasper Police Department K-9 brought to the scene gave a positive indication leading to the discovery of marijuana in a purse on the vehicle floorboard.

Authorities booked Merrimon into the Dubois County Security Center at noon on a preliminary misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana. She was then granted a conditional release.
