Traffic stop brings felony OWI arrest

JASPER — A Saturday evening traffic stop in Jasper led to a felony impaired driving arrest.
The Jasper Police Department stopped a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck at Second and Clay streets at 6:32 p.m. because of speeding and expired plates.
Police say the driver, Robert L. Baker, 58, 1312 Briarcliff Parkway, Jasper, was under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities said Baker’s blood alcohol content tested .158% in a certified chemical test at the Jasper Police Station.
Baker was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:33 p.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony operating while intoxicated (prior) and misdemeanor operating while intoxicated with a BAC over .15%.
Police also cited Baker for speeding and expired plates.
