HUNTINGBURG — A Monday night traffic stop resulted in a Kentucky man’s arrest on drug-related charges.
A Dubois County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a 1998 Ford Escort driven by Shane W. Orr, 30, Paducah, Kentucky, at 8:35 p.m. after observing Orr fail to stop at Phoenix Drive and Chestnut Street.
During the traffic stop, a Huntingburg Police Department K-9 gave a positive alert on the Escort’s driver’s side front door and police located a green powder identified as the controlled substance Kratom and a clear plastic bottle containing a yellowish substance that Orr said was clean urine.
Authorities booked Orr into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:42 p.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of synthetic urine.
A KARS wrecker also assisted.
