Town announces first tree lighting

ST. ANTHONY — On Sunday, Dec. 2, several organizations of St. Anthony will host an evening event that will include a tree lighting and blessing, Christmas caroling, chili and hot dogs, cookies and candy canes, hot chocolate and coffee.

The first St. Anthony Christmas tree lighting will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the St. Anthony campus of Divine Mercy Parish, north of the church. Following the lighting and blessing of a spruce tree, Christmas carols will be sung and a flag will be raised. Food will follow in the parish center.

The sponsors include Divine Mercy Christian Mother’s Sodality, St. Anthony Community Center, St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department, St. Anthony Conservation Club  St. Anthony American Legion Post 493 and the 800 Club.

Community members, friends and family are invited to join in this opportunity for fun and fellowship in preparation for the holiday season.
