Tossed cigarette leads to OWI arrest

HUNTINGBURG — A tossed cigarette led to an impaired driving arrest late Thursday night in Huntingburg.
A Huntingburg Police Department officer reported seeing the driver throw a lit cigarette from his truck that was turning south on Main Street from First Street at 11:29 p.m.
Police initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as William J. Rickelman II, 39, 405 S. Chestnut St.
Rickelman’s blood alcohol content allegedly tested at .17 percent after a certified test at the Huntingburg Police Station.
Authorities booked Rickelman into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:17 a.m. today on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
