Tip results in drug arrests

DUBOIS — Police acting on a tip involving suspected drug activity took two individuals into custody Thursday.
Dubois County Sheriff’s Office deputies checking into the complaint went to 8486 E. State Road 56 and made contact with resident Shane M. Edwards, 46, and Jamie D. Sorrells, 44, of 4201 N. Second St., Dubois.
After securing a search warrant, police allege the officers found heroin, marijuana and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
Edwards and Sorrells were booked into the Dubois County Security Center on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony possession of a narcotic drug and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Edwards was additionally charged with a preliminary Level 6 felony count of maintaining a common nuisance.
The Huntingburg Police Department assisted during the investigation.
