Three injured in accident

JASPER — Three people were injured in a Thursday afternoon accident at the intersection of Meridian Road and Second Avenue.
Misty Melvin, 45, of Loogootee and her juvenile passenger complained of pain and were were taken to Memorial Hospital by EMS, Jasper Police reported. Marlissa Bledsoe, 51, of Taswell was treated and released at the scene, police said.
At 1 p.m., Melvin was driving east on Second Avenue while Bledsoe was driving south on Meridian Road through the road’s intersection at Second. Melvin disregarged the traffic control device and went into the intersection, colliding with Bledsoe’s vehicle, police said.
Both vehicles - Melvin’s 2003 Toyota Camry and Bledsoe’s 2018 Ford Econoline - were a total loss, police said. Melvin was cited for disregarding a traffic control device, police said. Uebelhor’s towing service assisted at the scene.
