The Art of Technique

Instructor Jen Tolbert of Jasper, left, demonstrated wheel throwing techniques as Leanne Serra of Jasper, center, and Deborah Major of Ferdinand watched during Monday’s beginning wheel throwing class hosted by Jasper Community Arts at the Satellite Art Space in the Jasper Municipal Swimming Pool Building. The class teaches participants how to create three-dimensional forms and wheel throwing techniques, plus, according to Tolbert, the virtues of patience and accepting imperfections.

Tolbert of Jasper demonstrated wheel throwing techniques for creating a bowl during Monday's class.

Tolbert assisted Jo Richard of Ferdinand with her clay vessel as Jessica Condra and Conrad Stenftenagel, both of St. Anthony, worked on their projects during Monday's class.
