Southridge High School football players Grant Maxey, left, Jayce Harter and Colton O’Brien prepared for a Thanksgiving day practice Thursday morning at Raider Field in Huntingburg. “There’s only 12 teams in the state that are even getting to practice today and to be one of those 12 and one of the two in (Class 2A), is great,” Southridge coach Scott Buening said. “I love my family. I’m looking forward to the Thanksgiving meal later on today, but I really enjoyed spending time with our guys this morning, too.” The No. 5 Raiders will face No. 6 Woodlan at noon on Saturday in the Class 2A state championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Preview coverage of the game is on pages 23 and 24.
