TELL CITY — Police arrested a Tell City man Tuesday on charges connected with a fatal December crash in Perry County.
James D.G. Brownlee, 30, Tell City, was arrested and jailed on felony counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, causing death while operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher and reckless homicide.
The charges stem from a Dec. 27 crash on State Road 37 near the Mogan Ridge Road turnoff involving Brownlee’s car and a truck driven by 51-year-old Sharon James of Tell City, who died the next day from injuries related to the accident.
Police said a Pontiac driven by Brownlee went left of center and collided head-on with a northbound Ford Ranger driven by James.
Both drivers had to be extricated.
Perry County Sheriff Alan Malone said the Indiana State Police assisted in the investigation that led to Brownlee’s arrest Tuesday morning.
