SUV’s driver accused of OWI

JASPER — Police accused a women of impaired driving after an early morning traffic stop today.

The Jasper Police Department stopped a 2014 Toyota Sequoia at 1:54 a.m. after an officer reported it crossing the centerline multiple times after observing it at Second and Newton streets. Police also said the driver, Leigh A. Oeding, 31, 332 E. 15th St., Ferdinand, was driving 44 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Oeding exhibited signs of impairment and had a blood alcohol content that tested .127%, according to police.

Authorities booked Oeding into the Dubois County Security Center at 4:18 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
