SUVs collide west of Ferdinand
October 4, 2019HUNTINGBURG — Two vehicle occupants indicated they would seek medical treatment on their own after two SUVs collided Tuesday morning west of Ferdinand.
Marcia A. Jochem, 25, Ferdinand, was in a private drive to the north of County Road 1100S in a 2019 Jeep Cherokee when the 6:55 a.m. accident occurred west of Industrial Park Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Jochem was attempting to turn left from the private drive and did not see an approaching westbound 2014 GMC Acadia driven by Morgan J. Hinton, 39, Oakland City.
Police said Jochem avoided injury but a passenger with a minor injury indicated he would seek treatment on his own.
Hinton also indicated she would seek treatment on her own for shoulder pain.
Total damage was estimated between $10,000 and $25,000.
A deputy cited Jochem for failure to yield the right of way.
A Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker assisted.
