SUV-vs-deer collision worked east of Jasper

JASPER — A motorist escaped injury in an SUV-versus-deer collision Wednesday morning just east of Jasper.

Rose A. Loepker, 62, Birdseye, was westbound on State Road 164 in a 2012 Lincoln MKX when the 7 a.m. accident occurred west of County Road 320E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Loepker’s SUV sustained between $1,000 and $2,500 in damage when it collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the south.

The MKX was able to be driven from the scene, according to police.
