JASPER — Police cited one of the drivers in an SUV-versus-passenger car mishap Monday afternoon.
Esperanza Rodriguez Rozo, 60, Jasper, had pulled her 2012 GMC Terrain to the intersection with Brucke Strasse from a private drive near Third Avenue at the time of the 4:54 p.m. accident, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Rodriguez Rozo advised police that an unknown driver waived her into traffic and she began to proceed. She was attempting to pull into the center turn lane when her vehicle was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by Cory L. Prickett, 25, Holland.
Police said Prickett had been traveling toward Third Avenue in the straight travel lane.
Damage was estimated at $10,000 to the Rodriguez Rozo GMC and $1,500 to the Prickett Chevrolet.
An officer ticketed Rodriguez Rozo for failing to yield the right of way.
