SUV strikes Jasper building, driver sought

JASPER — The Jasper Police Department is asking for the public’s help as officer’s investigate a Thursday SUV-versus-building crash in which the driver fled the scene on foot.
Police were called to the Seng & Seng Certified Public Accountants building at 902 Main St. at 2:03 a.m.
Officers say a green 2004 Ford Escape struck the building, causing extensive damage to it. The driver was found to have fled the scene on foot.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
A Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker assisted.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the driver is asked to call Jasper police at 812-482-2255 or the department’s anonymous tip line: 812-481-COPS (2677).
