SUV spins off Jasper-area county road

JASPER — A St. Anthony teen escaped injury in a Saturday night mishap along a county road east of Jasper.

Roadways were reported slick and ice covered when the 9:11 p.m. accident occurred on Jasper-Dubois Road, 500 feet west of County Road 190N, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

Mallory J. Lehmkuhler, 16, St. Anthony, was eastbound on Jasper-Dubois Road when her 2003 Toyota RAV4 went into a yard on the south side of the roadway, according to the sheriff’s department. The SUV spun and struck a tree with its driver’s side door before stopping facing west in a ditch, according to the sheriff’s department.

Total damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500 but no wrecker was required.
