SUV runs into high water

HAYSVILLE — A Dubois-area woman was able to safely exit her vehicle after it encountered high water Monday morning southeast of Haysville.
Dakota Coffey of Dubois was northbound on County Road 175E in a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee when the 6:02 a.m. mishap occurred north of County Road 325E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Coffey encountered high water over the roadway, according to a deputy. The sheriff’s office said she drove off the east side of the road and into a ditch after she could no longer see the driving surface.
The vehicle was totaled because of the water damage.
The Haysville Volunteer Fire Department and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services assisted.
