HUNTINGBURG — A Posey County motorist escaped injury in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning along an icy section of I-64 east of the Ferdinand exit.
L.E. Jackson, 45, Mt. Vernon, was westbound on I-64 in a 2016 GMC Yukon when the 2:39 a.m. accident occurred 200 feet west of the 66.5-mile marker, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Jackson lost control of the SUV on the ice-covered roadway and it struck a guardrail off the south side of the westbound lanes. The Yukon then continued westbound until it was stopped on the shoulder of the north side of the westbound lanes.
Total damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
