SUV collides with tree

CELESTINE — A motorist was transported for treatment after his SUV collided with a tree along a county road east of Celestine Saturday.
Jayden I. Felker, 17, Celestine, was southbound on County Road 900E in a 1994 Chevrolet TrailBlazer when the 3:29 p.m. accident occurred 500 feet south of State Road 164, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Felker lost control of the vehicle on gravel. The SUV exited the east side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Felker was transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for treatment. A hospital spokeswoman said he was treated and released.
The crash totaled the SUV.
The Celestine Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.
