Sunset Extension Homemakers ClubApril 22, 2021
Six members of the Sunset Extension Homemakers Club met at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper. They answered roll call with what flowers were up and blooming in their gardens and yards. President Sylvia Adams opened the meeting with the club creed and mission statement. Hostess was Janet Epple.
The song of the month was “I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles.” Mrs. Epple also gave the secretary’s report.
Denise Smith gave out copies of the Constitution to all the members. She also gave the treasurer’s report and noted that an anonymous donor had given the club $200.
Mrs. Epple read a poem on gardens she had received as the item of interest. Ann Buechler gave “The Power of Sleep” for the health and safety lesson.
The Mother’s Day meal is planned for Tuesday, May 18, at Shoney’s. Mrs. Adams will be hostess.
For citizenship, members discussed the many shootings that have been occurring.
Mrs. Buechler presented the lesson, “How Resilient Are You?” and gave a quiz for everyone to take. She also received a birthday gift from Dee Blessinger.
The reflection and vision statement were read, and Mrs. Adams thanked Mrs. Epple for being hostess.
The door prize brought by Mrs. Epple went to Mrs. Blessinger. Mrs. Adams received the attendance prize. Game prize went to Judy Hubster, Ann Buechler and Dee Blessinger.
