Sunset Extension Homemakers ClubAugust 27, 2019
The Sunset Extension Homemakers Club met Aug. 20 at the home of Judy Hubster for a picnic before their meeting. Judy Hubster was hostess for the six members present.
“Amazing Grace” was the song of the month. President Dee Blessinger opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag, club creed and mission statement.
Ann Buechler gave the health and safety report on eating vegetables. Ms. Hubster had the citizenship report regarding the youth council restarted by Mayor Dean Vonderheide. He had been part of the mayor’s youth council when he was in high school. He restarted the council as a way of getting students to learn more about city government and become more involved.
Ms. Hubster had the item of interest, which was a picture of Holland High School Class of 1964 on their senior trip to Washington, D.C., and a picture of the class this summer at their 55-year reunion.
Lessons were passed out for members to give during the year.
Prize winners were Ms. Blessinger, door and game; Ms. Buechler, attendance; and Denise Smith, game.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Jasper.
