Storm sewer work to impact Newton Street trafficAugust 6, 2019

JASPER — The City of Jasper and its contractor will be doing storm sewer work on Newton Street, impacting the area from Seventh to 13th street in the coming weeks.
The work will require lane closures, traffic pattern movements and intersection closures at times to facilitate the work.
The restrictions will remain in effect during during daytime and nighttime hours. The work is expected to last four weeks, weather permitting and barring an unforeseen circumstance.
The City of Jasper is aggressively pursuing infrastructure improvements with the newly-installed water main project, this stormsewer project and the replacement of many portions of sidewalks along Newton and West Sixth Street in advance of the Indiana Department of Transportation's planned work on U.S. 231 this fall and ins spring 2020.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution when traveling through work zones.
