Storm sewer meeting planned

HUNTINGBURG — The City of Huntingburg is hosting a public input meeting on storm water drainage issues. The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 at City Hall, 508 E. Fourth Street.

City officials are developing a storm water program to reduce flooding, improve infrastructure, create better recreational opportunities, and improve water quality. They are seeking public Input to identify areas where storm water drainage creates property damage, transportation problems, erosion issues, and pollutant runoff. The information collected will be used to develop a study that assessing storm water issues and determining how to address the issues. 

Maps will be available at the meeting for citizens to locate and discuss problem areas. Those who are experiencing storm water problems, or have historical knowledge of the storm sewer system are encouraged to attend, officials said.
