JASPER — A stop sign violation early today on the city’s north side resulted in an impaired driving arrest.
The Jasper Police Department stopped a Ford Mustang driven by Orlando Turcios Martinez, 23, 4430 Bern Strasse, Jasper, at 12:59 a.m. at Kellerville Road and Cathy Lane after an officer observed the traffic violation.
Police, who say Turcios Martinez was found to be under the influence of alcohol, report his blood alcohol content later tested .089% in a certified test at the Jasper Police Station.
During a search of the Mustang, police allegedly found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Authorities booked Turcios Martinez into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:17 a.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
