Stop ends in impaired driving arrest

JASPER — Police placed a woman under arrest after a Wednesday night traffic stop.

A Jasper Police Department officer stopped a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu at 10:15 p.m. after the driver, Tiffany D. Eckstein, 44, 325 W. 10th St., allegedly failed to signal at the Second and Clay and Third and Newton intersections.

Eckstein failed field sobriety testing and police allege her blood alcohol content tested .212% in a certified test at the Jasper Police Station.

Authorities booked Eckstein into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:06 a.m. today on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
