Steven R. Maas, 74, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 27, 2019, at a hospice facility in Cincinnati.
Steve was born on May 8, 1945, in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Herb and Thelma (Powell) Maas. He married Anne Dudine on July 24, 1971, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a graduate of Huntingburg High School class of 1963. Steve graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked in designing and manufacturing Custom Cabinetry and later in Sales.
Steve enjoyed woodworking projects, being with friends and colleagues, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a giving and caring individual who never met a stranger.
Steve is survived by his wife, Anne Maas of Cincinnati; son Aaron Steven (Alyssa) Maas and grandsons Stirling Aaron and Cooper Bingham, and a daughter Emily Anne (Joel) Neller and granddaughters Kensington Anne and Camryn Rose, all of Cincinnati. He is also survived by a daughter Susan Margaret (Drew) Axelson and granddaughter Lillian Marie; brother Donald William (Eldina) Maas, nephew Gregory Steven Maas, and two great-nephews, Alex and Daniel Maas, all of Jeffersonville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Thelma (Powell) Maas.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Salem United Church of Christ, 202 E. Fourth St., Huntingburg IN 47542, the March of Dimes, Riley Children's Hospital of Indianapolis or a favorite charity.
