Stephen Lee ReckerFebruary 1, 2019
Stephen Lee Recker died the way he lived, with courage, good humor, and love. Steve left this world on January 31, 2019.
Steve was born to Jim and Diane Recker on September 14, 1958, in Huntingburg. He attended Forest Park High School where he played tennis and ran cross country. During his professional career he excelled as a salesmen.
Steve was a home run king during his years playing softball and enthusiastically supported all his children in their endeavors. Steve read for years at St Joseph Church as a lecture and prided himself on it.
Steve is survived by his three sons; Luke, Lyle and Landon; grandchildren, Xavier, Marcus, Emeri, Blayken, Eastyn, Ahnalise and Noelle; and siblings, Terry, Kelli, Debbie, and Maria.
Steve was the kind of person who would strike up a conversation or help a stranger. Someone who was passionate about his family. Someone you could count on.
A brief service will be held in Steve’s memory at 3 p.m. this Sunday, February 3, at St Joseph’s Church in Jasper.
