State police collect 2,000 pounds of meds

JASPER — The Indiana State Police participated Saturday in the 16th nationwide “Prescription Drug Take Back” initiative sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Statewide, state police collected more than 2,000 pounds of unused or expired medication. The Jasper Post, District 34, collected 224 pounds.

The initiative seeks to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft.
