Southridge, Jasper to play in state championship

Southridge (25-7) will take on Hanover Central (29-3-1) for the Class 3A State Championship at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Field. The Raiders seek their first state championship in program history, and this is their third straight season making it to a state championship game.

They got to this point after besting Brebeuf Jesuit, 4-2, June 12 in the Class 3A Semi-State 4 matchup at Ruxer Field.

Jasper (30-2) plays Fishers (23-12) in the Class 4A State Championship at 8 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the teams this season. Jasper defeated Mount Vernon (Fortville) in a 17-2 run-rule in the 4A Semi-State 4 game June 12 at Ruxer Field.

Jasper seeks its sixth state title in program history. This will be the Cats’ first trip to Victory Field since 2017.
