JASPER — A representative of the Indiana Arts Commission will be in Jasper and available to anyone who wants to talk about the arts and the commission’s activities.
Commission Deputy Director Miah Michaelsen will hold a Creative Indiana Art Café at the train depot from 1:45 to 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. “This will be a chance for community members and artists to talk to a commission staff member,” said Bridget Eckert, the arts commission’s marketing and communications director.
Earlier in the day, Michaelsen will visit art venues in Jasper: the Astra Theatre and Romy & Clare.
The Indiana Arts Commission is meeting in Evansville Friday for its quarterly meeting. While in the area, some members will visit nearby communities “to get a nice flavor of the region and to see what’s going on,” Eckert said.
Eckert will visit the Vincennes area on Wednesday, while Commission Executive Director Lewis Ricci plans to visit Evansville area. On Thursday, the commission staff will visit sites in Evansville and hold a town hall event for the public from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. CT at The Ballroom at Sauced, 1113 Parrett Street, Evansville.
The commission’s quarterly meeting, which is also open to the public, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon CT at Southwest Indiana Chamber, 318 Main Street, Evansville.
