Parish announces church picnicAugust 12, 2019
FERDINAND — Christ the King Parish’s annual picnic will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday Aug. 25, on the parish grounds. The public is invited. A shuttle service will be available.
Fried chicken dinners will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the air-conditioned Ferdinand Elementary School gym/cafeteria.
Hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, tenderloins, mock turtle by the bowl and drinks will be available in the food stand. Homemade soup also will be available by the gallon.
There will be many games and activities for children.
There will be a grand raffle with many prizes and there will be a separate quilt raffle.
A silent auction with more than 100 baskets and items will be available to bid on. There also will be a country store with fresh produce, homemade items and numerous other items.
Bingo will be in the air-conditioned hall of the Spiritual Life Center.
There will be a car show on the parish grounds. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon; the cost is $15. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. for the Top 40 (pre-2005), Top 10 (2005 and newer), best of show, deacon’s choice and best rat rod. New this year is a RC Vehicle show that is open to all ages. A people’s choice award will be presented.
