St. Boniface hosts annual picnic

FULDA — St. Boniface Catholic Church will hold its annual summer picnic on Sunday, Aug. 4, beginning at 10 a.m. CT.

Games and entertainment, including bingo, will be available throughout the parish grounds. A Family Fun Center with free games and activities will be open throughout the day.

Fried chicken and roast beef dinners with all the trimmings, along with homemade desserts, will be served in the parish center. Guests can dine in or carry out.

Soup will be sold by the bowl or bulk at the shelterhouse. Containers are available upon request. Besides the soup, fried chicken, grilled tenderloins, hamburgers and drinks will be served. Hand-dipped ice cream and homemade desserts also will be available.

Other activities include a raffle of handmade quilts from parishioners and local artisans and a themed gift baskets raffle, featuring local goods, artisan work and gear for sports teams. The Country Kitchen will sell homemade breads, rolls, muffins, coffee cakes, noodles, snacks, salsas, jellies, jams and relishes.

Live music by the Sweetwater Band and guided tours of the church, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will be held throughout the day. The picnic will conclude at 3 p.m. CT with the raffles, including the “SaintSational” cash raffle with $5,000 in prizes.

Shuttle service, handicap parking on the north side of the church, shaded grounds and air-conditioned dining are available all day.
