State Road 56 will be closed near Haysville starting Monday so that the Indiana Department of Transportation can begin the final stages of straightening work on Sendelweck Curve.

Contractors will connect State Road 56 to the new alignment of the roadway following the curve correction project. Dirt work began on the project in October 2020.

The road is expected to be closed until the end of October 2021, depending upon weather conditions. Local traffic will have access to the point of closure, but all through traffic should use a detour, U.S. 231, S.R. 164 and S.R. 545.
