Spencer County Democrats endorse Marsili for 8th DistrictApril 1, 2020
To the editor:
The Spencer County Democratic Party announces our endorsement of E. Thomasina Marsili for 8th District United States Representative. The endorsement follows a vote by the Central Committee consisting of all precinct committee chairs and their vice-chairs.
Thomasina grew up in northern Spencer County, graduating from Heritage Hills High School in 1994. When she was sixteen she built trails at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial and earned a spot in the movie A League of Their Own filmed in Evansville and Huntingburg. She has been an active, hard-working campaigner having already attended numerous meetings and events in Spencer County.
In addition to her strong Spencer County connection, Thomasina is highly qualified for the office she seeks. Thomasina has spent two decades managing multi-million dollar corporations, earning the title of hotel general manager by age 20. Thomasina is an educator, small business owner, nationally registered EMT, certified life coach, and motivational speaker. Her passion is to bring recognition to inequities within our rural areas and give voice to the voiceless. Thomasina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Marian University and is a member of Psi Chi and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies.
Most importantly, we extend our endorsement because of Thomasina’s vision for the future:
• Bringing higher paying jobs to the district through improved access to high quality education and apprenticeships, diversifying economic development efforts, and securing living wages.
• Improving public education by increasing teacher salaries, expanding education funding to assist low income and rural areas, stopping privatization of schools and expanding student loan forgiveness programs for public school educators.
• Thomasina will fight so that every Hoosier has healthcare.
These are Democratic, American and Spencer County values. For all these reasons, we proudly endorse this member of our extended Spencer County family and urge all Democrats to vote for E. Thomasina Marsili in the upcoming Primary Election. Learn more about Thomasina on her website at https://www.hopein8.com/.
